Welcome! I am Brittany Brownlee, the Founder and CEO of Vision’s Outreach & Family Center, Inc. Let’s discuss my journey & testimony of how I addressed and overcame poverty.

I was faced with living in a lost world with the struggles and hardships of poverty. My journey started at 18 years old on the day I became a high school dropout. I walked out of my school with my head hung low and tears rolling down my face. I was lost and did not know what to do with myself. My life was so shameful, and I felt so defeated. However, there was purpose for my life, and the people who loved me never gave up on encouraging me to keep going on. So, I enrolled in a GED program and became successful since that day. I was so happy when I accomplished the biggest blessing of my life when I GRADUATED WITH A SCHOLARSHIP TO FUTHER MY EDUCATION from the GED program! I took the scholarship and successfully completed my associate degree. I graduated with honors and with a Phi Theta Kappa scholarship to complete my bachelor’s degree. A total of 15 years has passed at this point, and I’ve experienced several job instabilities, hardships, homelessness, strains, and financial issues due to job shortages, being under or, overqualified. Shortly after graduating with a bachelor’s degree, I tried applying for jobs related to my major, and I struggled getting hired for employment. I became extremely stressed because by this time, I had 3 children and counting. I knew there was more to me that was better than rejection and struggle. I grew so weary with the struggles of poverty. I felt like I needed more knowledge, expertise, and education so I enrolled back into a university & successfully graduated with honors with a master’s degree. Today, I am an entrepreneur over my own organization educating and making a difference in many other people’s lives. This is why I have a strong will and desire to help build others and inspire them to become leaders, entrepreneurs, or professionals regardless of how low they have been.
